FACELIFT/LOWER NECK LIFT

Timeless Beauty, Reimagined

The facelift, also known as Rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure used to improve the signs of aging in the facial skin. A facelift can tighten sagging facial skin, remove deep wrinkles, lines, and creases, eliminate fatty deposits along the jawline (jowls), and also firm the neck area.

The SMAS procedure for a facelift involves a dual-plane lift that includes both undermining of the skin, as well as an underlying soft tissue layer called the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS). The SMAS is a thin but strong soft tissue layer that lies under the skin and also lines the underlying facial muscles. The SMAS layer is used to not only pull and tighten the deeper layers which include the muscles, tendons, and ligaments, but also allows Dr. Kim to pull the skin layer without undue tension. As a result, most people look 15-20 years younger, and that age gap lasts them for the rest of their life.

The SMAS Facelift can also be done in tandem with a few other surgical procedures to address all your aesthetic goals. Consulting with Dr. Kim to explain the procedure in detail as well as post-op care is a great start to your facial rejuvenation needs.
